Ruth Fritz Ruth L. Fritz, 93, of Defiance, passed away Tuesday morning, May 15th, 2018, at Glenn Park of Defiance. She was born in Defiance County, Ohio on December 2, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Elizabeth (Herbert) Hasselschwert. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and past member of St. Isidore Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She had worked as a baker. Ruth married Forrest A. Fritz on January 23, 1947, and he died December 10, 1992. Surviving are daughters: Linda (James) Glomski of Rudolph, OH, Charette (Louis) Shininger of Ney, Brenda (Stuart) Harter of New Haven, IN sons: Gregory (Barbara) Fritz of Northwood, OH, Mark Fritz of Clearwater, FL a sister: Veronica Hicks of Kalida, OH. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Forrest, six brothers: Robert, who died in infancy, Paul, Donald, Charles, Virgil, and James Hasselschwert, two sisters: Elverta Grussing and Virginia Herder. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Isidore Catholic Church at Marysdale, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 18th, with Father Robert Kill officiating. Visitation is Thursday 5-8 p.m. at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. with a 7:30 p.m. Rosary Service Thursday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
