Russell D. Wilde, 59, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born on November 15, 1957 to James and Berta (Shepherd) Wilde in Norwalk, Ohio. He worked for Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon for several years. Russell played the drums in area bands, and was a very loving father.

Russell  will be sadly missed by his mother, Berta Wilde of Defiance, sons, Russell E. Wilde and Elliott Wilde, both of Defiance, grandson, Emmett Wilde, brothers, James (Jan) Wilde of Defiance, and Richard (Sandi) Wilde of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, sister, Sande Siler of Westerville, Ohio, and companion for 18 years, Sandra Fitch of Defiance.

He was preceded in death by father, James E. Wilde.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Thursday, February  23, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance.  Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home on Thursday, with Rev. Bobby Shepherd officiating.
