Ruby Jean May, 78, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the CHP Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Center, Defiance.

She was born on November 22, 1935 to Theodore and Ethal (Musselman) Miller in Paulding, OH.  In 1977 she married John May, who preceded her in death.

She was a lifetime member of St John Lutheran Church, Defiance, and she was a waitress at the former Barnes' Restuarant, Defiance.

Ruby is survived by her son, Donald (Tina) Bright of Defiance, OH, grandchildren, Andrew Satterlee of WI, Christene (Corey) Bright of Defiance, OH, Misty (Cody) Jackson of Defiance, OH, Lucas (Roxanne) Sherry of McClure, OH, Dawn Bright of Green Bay, WI, Timothy Bright of Green Bay, WI, great-grandchildren, Gage, Macey, Reiley, Olivia, Kash, Rory, Dylan, Triston, Christina, Evan, & Beau, 3 nieces & 2 nephews, as well as numerous step-children, step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren, cousins, and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Mary Lou McKenney.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with funeral services following at 1:00 pm with Rev. Josh Schmidt officiating.

Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.

Memorials are suggested to the CHP Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Center or the church.
