(Wisda) Justinger
December 28, 1920 – June 1, 2018
Rosemary M. Justinger, 97, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, June 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 28, 1920 to William and Ollie (Brown) Wisda in Defiance. On May 6, 1943 she married Virgil J. Justinger, who preceded her in death on August 9, 1988.
Rosemary was a faithful member of St. John Catholic Church in Defiance, where she was active in The Christian Mothers and Altar Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Catholic Daughters of America, St. Mary's Propagation of Faith, Patana Mission Club, Associate member of the Sisters of St. Agnes, Fifty Five Club, and was a lay distributor, greeter, and money counter. She worked with her husband at Justinger Brothers, Inc. for many years. She loved to volunteer her time, crocheting, and playing cards. Rosemary was a member of the DASH board, Defiance Moose Lodge #2094, Defiance Elks #147, and she volunteered at K of C fish fries, and The Red Cross. She will be tenderly remembered by her family and friends for her selfless service and strong connection to The Lord, knowing that she is forever at peace in God's home. Rosemary will be sadly missed by her four daughters, Janet (Robert) Wood of Fremont, OH, Judy (Sam) Sauer of Defiance, Marilyn (Dr. Robert) Foldvary of Defiance, and Sister Monica Justinger, C.S.A. of Circleville, OH, son, John (Mary) Justinger of Defiance, 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly and spoiled at every opportunity. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Justinger, brother, Kenneth Wisda, three sisters, Verna Mae Wisda, Loretta Neff, and Dorothy Gerschutz, grandsons, Alex and Mark Foldvary, and a great-granddaughter, Bennett Nelson. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church, with Fr. Eric Mueller officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, CHP Defiance Hospice, or St. John Catholic Church. Online condolences can be given at www.Schafferfh.com.
