Rosemary Casarez, age 66 of Defiance, passed away in her home with her family by her side on Friday, November 11, 2022. She was born on June 24, 1956 to the late Albert and Rose (Gutierrez) Figueroa in Lima, Peru. On October 21, 1972 she married Sarepio Casarez Jr and he survives. Rosemary was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful member of St. John Catholic Church in Defiance. She enjoyed photography, gardening, and puzzles in her spare time, but the joy of her life was found in the time she spent with her family. Rosemary is survived by her loving husband Sarepio Casarez, Jr.; her children; Daniel (Michelle) Casarez, Robert (Monica Ankney) Casarez, Sherry (David) Sherry, and Sarepio Casarez, III all of Defiance, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, her sister, Susana (Steve) Doelder of Rockford, MI and her brother, Charles (Tricia) Figueroa of Grand Rapids, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Antonio Figueroa and Cesar Figueroa. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, Ohio, with a Vigil Service at 4:00 with Deacon Mark Homier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday November, 19, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church in Defiance, with Fr. Jason Dsouza officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to The Arthritis Foundation.
