Obituary

Ronald G. Stuckey, 82, of Defiance, passed away surrounded by his family on August 3, 2026 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born on March 13, 1944 to Virgil and Velma (Johnson) Stuckey in Defiance, OH. He married the love of his life, Amy Brown, who preceded him in death. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force and later retired from the Department of Commerce after years of dedicated public service.

A devoted family man and steadfast provider, he was a constant source of love and support for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed surfing the web, engaging in spirited debates, and cheering on his beloved Detroit Tigers. He cherished reconnecting with classmates at their monthly gatherings and found his greatest joy in watching his great-grandchildren grow up in the same community he had always called home. His unwavering dedication to family, quick wit, and genuine enjoyment of life's simple pleasures will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Ronald is survived by his grandchildren, Anthony (Stacy) Stuckey, Melissa Stuckey, Cassie Reynolds, and Darrell Reynolds, Jr.; 13 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Linda, Bonnie, and Nancy.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Fanessa Stuckey and brother, Gary Stuckey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
