Ronald L. Scott Sr., age 75 of Cecil, Ohio, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. He was born on October 14, 1947 to the late John and Arlene (Shock) Scott in Defiance, Ohio. Ron proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy. On July 16, 1976 he married Patricia Miller, who survives. Ron was a member of  Defiance Eagles #372. He worked for several years at Defiance Metal Products until his retirement on November 1, 2017. Ron was a devoted  husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing pool and corn hole, and car racing on dirt tracks. He will be sadly missed by his family and many goods friends. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Trish Scott of Cecil, two sons, Joe (Renee) Kennedy of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Ronald (Melissa) Scott Jr. of Auburn, IN, his daughter, Sarah (Andrew) Smith of Defiance, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his brother, Gary (Brenda) Scott of Defiance, and sisters, Cathy (Dennis) Koppenhofer and Brenda (Ron) Bechtol, all of Defiance. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, John Scott. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance.
