Ronald E. Gilmore, 62, of Defiance, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 6, 2017.

He was born on April 3, 1955 to Harold and Florence (Ramseyer) Gilmore in Fremont, Ohio. On March 12, 1977 he married Kim  (Asher) Gilmore, who preceded him in death on August 25, 2014.  Ron retired from Universal Co-Op in Napoleon, after working for several years as a shipping clerk. Ron loved to run, and he enjoyed taking care of his lawn, listening to music, and watching Cleveland Indians and Jeopardy.

Ron will be sadly missed by his daughter, Lynn Tipton, and son, Eric (Amy) Gilmore, grandchildren, Jaren and Olivia Tipton, and Addison, Jacob, and Lillyan Gilmore, all of Defiance, and brother, Steven Gilmore of Charlotte, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Kim M. Gilmore.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Deb Miller, officiating.
