Ronald E. Back, age 64, of West Unity, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Toledo Hospital.

He was born on June 22, 1952 to Edwin and Bobbie (Adams) Back in Hazard, Kentucky. On April 13, 1974 he married Denise (Blair) Back, who resides in West Unity. Ronald worked for 33 years at Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon as a coordinator, and worked various other jobs. His hobbies include golfing and UK basketball.

Ronald will be greatly missed by his loving spouse of  42 years, Denise Back of West Unity, daughters, LeeAnn (James) Mehring of Holgate, Leslie Wagner of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Lisa (Eric) Haar of New Bavaria, son, Matthew Back of West Unity, 8 grandchildren, brothers, Haggar Back and Edwin Back, Jr., sisters, Janet (Mike) Watson, Vickie Turner, Carla (Larry) Moll, Edwina (Wayne) Yakkey, and Betsy (Brian) Graham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Damon Back, and sister, Kim Reed.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home. Burial will  follow the services at Riverview Memory Gardens.
