Retired US Air Force CMSGT Roland J. Foss, Jr., 72, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC.  He was a Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Heather) Foss, Kyle Foss, and Kris Foss,  sisters, Judith Cook and Pamela Steel, brothers, Timothy Foss, and Fredrick Foss, half-brother Edward Foss, longtime girlfriend, Jeannie Sampson, and grandchildren, Trent Foss and Kiley Foss.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry and brother, Michael Foss.

Visitation will be held from  4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 21, 208 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, and for one hour prior to services on Saturday. Funeral services will be at  11:00 am on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
