Roger W Theis Sr., 81, of Cecil, passed away on Wednesday,  January 8, 2014 at the Genesis Health Care Center in Bryan.

He was born on February 4, 1932 to William and Mazie (Kern) Theis in Delaware Twp, Defiance Co, OH.  Roger married Geliah "Toni" Mae Collins in 1950. They divorced but remained good friends until her death in 2012.

He was a member of Church of God.
Roger worked for Grizzly in Paulding 30 years retiring in 1980.  He enjoyed auctions, antiques, and his dog, "Missy" and his cat "Kitty Cat".

Roger is survived by his sons, Roger (Robin) Theis of Camden, MI, David Theis of Cecil, OH,  Daniel Theis of Defiance, OH, daughter, Becky (William "Bill") Walls of Ninety Six, SC, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brother, Steve Theis of Junction, OH, sisters, Marge Singer of Ft.Brown, OH, Patsy Palmer of AL, Dorothy Reed of Paulding, OH, and Valeria (Dick) Baeir of Lima, OH.

He was preceded in death by parents, ex-wife, Geliah Mae Theis, sons, Larry and Robert Theis, daughter, Cathy Theis, brothers, Orville, Arnold & Kenny Theis, sister, Lucille Keezer, grandson, Scott Theis and a granddaughter Michelle R. Theis.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with funeral services being held immedately after at 11:00 a.m. with Rudy Mast officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethel-Forder Cemetery., Paulding Co.

The family request memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
