Robert  H. Serrick, 98, of Defiance, passed away on  June 5, 2014 at the Glen Park of Defiance .

He was born on August 15, 1915 to Leo and Margaret (Ziegler) Serrick at Toledo, OH.  On April 2, 1934 he married June Mercer who preceded him in death on May 22, 1995.

He was a former member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Defiance, Defiance Rotary, and the past president of the Kettering County Club, and Defiance County United Way .Robert  was the  President of Defiance Stamping Company.  Served on the board of directors for the Shawnee Council of the Boy Scouts.  Was a 1933 graduate from Defiance High School and attended Defiance College.  He enjoyed fishing & golfing.  In 2007 he received the Mike Schultz Leadership Award.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Callan of Defiance, OH, son, Gerald R. Serrick of Fremont, IN , 2 grandchildren, Lisa (Dave) Muller and Brian (Amy) Callan, 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters, Dorothy  Hendricks, Ruth Phillips, Jeanne Stenger, and Helen Ritchie.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 09, 2014 from  4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 10th at 10:00 am at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery Mausoleum.
