Robert E Roddy Sr.
Robert E Roddy Sr., 82, of Defiance died Friday, April 29, 2016, at Hospice, Defiance, Ohio.

He was born July 7, 1933, in Defiance the son of Cloice Sr. and Mabel (McKellips) Roddy. On August 2, 1958 he married Donna  Elliott and she survives in Defiance. He retired after 39 years from Johns Manville where he was a machine operator . He was a member of  the Defiance Assembly of God, was a Army veteran of the Korean War serving 3 years, and was on reserves for 6 years, a VFW 3360 member, and was a member of the Glass Bottle Blowers Union at Johns Manville.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Roddy, sons, Robert (Fiancée Gayle ) Roddy Jr., Defiance, and Rick Roddy of Defiance, daughter, Patricia McKenzie, of Defiance, sister, Rozella (LeRoy) Stoker, Defiance, brothers, Dennis (Connie) Roddy of Defiance and  Nelson (Valerie) Roddy Ft. Pierce, Fl.  5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his father, Cloice Roddy, mother, Mabel Roddy, sister, Donna Pursel, brothers, Richard, John, Carl, Leo Edward"Ed", Paul Douglas, Roger, & Cloice Jr.  Roddy.

Funeral services will be at the Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance on Tuesday, May 3rd, at 12:00 pm with Paul Myers officiating.  Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens with graveside rites by the VFW Defiance Post 3360 according military honors.  Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 on Monday, May 2nd at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be directed towards the Defiance Hospice, or the Laurel's of Defiance.
