Robert "Glenn" Poston, 71, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born on April 21, 1946 to Solomon and Carrie (Sluss) Poston in Castlewood, VA. On July 1, 1967 he married Gloria (Greiner) Poston, who resides in Defiance.  Glenn worked at Johns Manville for 44 years, retiring in 2008. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and racing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Glenn will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Gloria Poston of Defiance, children, Robert  "Rob" (Tondra) Poston, Jr., Tracy (Randy) Shumaker, and  Jamie (Lindsey) Poston, all  of Defiance, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, with one on the way, sister, Martha Helbert of Castelwood, VA, brothers, Bill (Bobbi) Poston of Defiance, Ray (Viletta) Poston of Defiance,and Don (Dorothy) Poston of Coeburn, VA, and his beloved dog, Peanut.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Faye Greear, Lola Davidson, and Gaynell Greear, and grandson, Joshua Poston.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 2nd at Schaffer Funeral  Home,  with Rev. George Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
