Robert "Bob" John David Heilshorn, 71, of Oakwood, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH.

He was born on June 26, 1941 to Richard John Paul David and Lucille (Kannowski) Heilshorn in Wyandotte, MI. On June 3, 1989 he married Karen (Bodenburg) Heilshorn in St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, OH.

Robert was a 1960 graduate of Kenton High School. He was a journeyman/millwright at General Motors 33 years retiring in 1998. He loved flying, politics, racing and fabrication.  Bob was a devout Christian.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Karen, children, Timothy (Debbie) Heilshorn of Roanoke, IN,  Nanci Macuga of Defiance,  Eric (Carlene) Heilshorn of Defiance,  Vicki Heilshorn of Defiance, Cyndi (Brent) Wiemken of Ney, 10 grandchildren, brother, John (Sharon) Heilshorn of Findlay, and a sister, Vicki (Roger) Wahl of Cambria, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Heilshorn, grandson, Erin Heilshorn, and a granddaughter, Katrina Heilshorn.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013, at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, with Pastor Joshua Schmidt officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
