Obituary

Robert Harry Goldenetz, aged 86, beloved dad, husband and brother, peacefully entered into the presence of our Savior on March 23, 2023.  He was known by family and friends as a sweet, loving man with an ornery sense of humor.

He served 5 years as an Aviation Electrician in the Navy, flying in a P2V Neptune antisubmarine bomber. He often talked of his world travels and exploits hunting submarines during his service. In his later years, he was never seen without his US Navy hat or a US Navy blanket across his lap.

His lifelong career at Defiance Metal Products started as a tool and die maker journeyman and moving on to Corporate Director of Quality Control at his retirement. During his career he was most proud of achieving QS 9000 awards for the company.

He thoroughly enjoyed his work with the AWANA program at North Mount Zion Church. For years, hundreds of children came to hear the good news of the gospel. He would go to great lengths to get kids to come and reach their scripture memory goals. Many times he let himself be "tarred and feathered" with honey and feathers when they met their goals.

In his retirement, he became active in the Sun City Center Tops Club. He lost 160 pounds and was crowned the TOPS Florida King. He was a sought-after speaker, helping others on their weight loss journey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jeremine Goldenetz, his son Timothy Robert Goldenetz, his sisters Connie Miller and Amy Golovoy.

His is survived by his wife Suzanne Goldenetz, daughter Kelly (David) Kaiser, grandchildren Joshua (Varalyn), Benjamin, Anna, Lia and Kyra Kaiser and his great-grandchildren, Saoirse, Kuyper, Josiah, Amyiah, Reverie and Fenner Kaiser.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Ayersville United Methodist Church. A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow at 11:00 am at the church. Burial will take place at Ayersville Cemetery, with a dinner for family and friends being held  at the church.
