Robert (Bob) A. Froelich, 96, of Defiance passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Bob was born in Defiance, Ohio on May 18, 1921 to the late Andrew and Anna (Desch) Froelich. He married Clara Louise Weber September 13, 1947 and she died October 4, 1994. He was a lifetime member of St. John's Catholic Church. He served in the US Army during W.W.II. He was retired from Dinner Bell. He was also a lifetime member of the Tinora Athletic Boosters and a loyal fan of the Tinora Rams, Defiance College and Notre Dame "The Fighting Irish" athletics . Bob is survived by children Barb (Tom) Keehn, Pam (Dave) Schneberger, Dayton Ohio. Andrew(Deb), Burbank OH, Jo Froelich, Pat (Roger) Rethmel, Cathy (Kevin) Kahle, Defiance. Matt (Cindy), Columbus, IN, James (Becky), Port Orchard WA, Therese (Doug) Clevenger, Wooster, 23 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers, Harold, Donald, Father Charles, Father James, Franklin and a sister Rosemary, one grandchild and one great grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St. John's Catholic Church, Defiance. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Friday, October 27, including a rosary vigil at 7:00, at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens where VFW Post #3360 will conduct honorary military graveside rites.
