Robert N. (Bob) Williamson, 87, of Defiance, passed away on  Monday, August 7, 2017 in Sylvania, Ohio.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was born on August 13, 1929  in Continental, Ohio. On February 7, 1954 he married Helen (Hiltner) Williamson, who preceded him in death in 2005. He is survived by two children, two grandchildren, and his sister, Ruth "Susie" Curl.  His son Robert "Chris" Williamson and his daughter, Brooke live in Stoughton, Wisconsin. His daughter Sandra Yobbagy, her husband Jon, and their son Jonathan live in Sylvania, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Hiltner) Williamson, grandson Jacob Williamson, parents Naomi and Nelson Williamson, brothers Roy, Kenneth, and George Williamson, and sister Alice Snyder.

Robert who was affectionately known as "Buckeye Bob" was employed by Miller Bros. for forty years. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was deployed to Germany.

Visiting hours will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, and for one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Defiance, with Pastor Joe Payne officiating. Burial will follow the services at Riverside Cemetery, with military graveside rites accorded by VFW #3360.
