Robert G. Brown, 86, of Hamler, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at VanCrest Healthcare Center of Holgate, Ohio. He was born on July 6, 1928 to Floyd and Jessie (Myers) Brown in Paulding County, Ohio. In 1951 he married JoAnne (Healy) Brown, who proceeded him in death in 1999. Robert was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler, and the Cement Mason's Local #886. He recently received a 60 year membership card from the union. Robert enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Robert is survived by his sons, Larry (Sharon) Brown of McClure, Jeffery (Robin) Brown of Hamler, daughters, Marsha (Dewey) Mast of Defiance, Karen (Jack) Jobe of Columbus, Brenda (Joe Dye) Junge of Napoleon, and Lori (John) Hoops of Deshler, grandchildren, Nicholas (Nichole Croninger) Ward, Amie Brown, Chelsea (Brad Palmer) Junge, Tiffany (Sean Avren) Smith, Lucas Brown, 5 step grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, and a brother, Carroll Brown of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Basil and Donald Brown, sisters, Thelma Bodenbender and Geraldine Cowell, daughter, Jodi Brown, and grandsons, Dustin and Cory Brown. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Deshler, with Pastor Jim Wenger officiating. Burial will take place in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Family suggests memorials be directed to Hospice of Henry County, St. John Lutheran Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
