Robert T. "Bob" Brady, 81, of Defiance, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, July 3, 2023 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born on October 14, 1941 to the late Robert and Leota (Baker) Brady in Toledo, Ohio. On September 13, 1963 he married Brigitte Buck, who survives. Bob proudly served our country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve, retiring after 28 years of service. He was a member of Moose Lodge #2094. He volunteered for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief and assisted in New York during 911 and after the Katrina hurricane flooding. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and scuba diving. Bob had a kind and compassionate nature, always willing to tell stories and share a good joke. Bob was very close to his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family, colleagues and good friends. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Brigitte Brady of Defiance, his children; Thomas (Darla) Brady of Columbus, OH, Heidi (Dave Mitchell) Klueter of Oak Harbor, OH, and Frank (Lisa) Brady of Sidney, OH, eight grandchildren; Samantha, Cassandra and Robert Brady, Brian Klueter, Natalie (Kyle) Bostelman, Derek (Emily) Brady, Laura and Anna Brady, and his great-grandson, Kayden Bostelman. He also leaves behind his siblings; Mary Kern of Findlay, OH, Dennis (Jan) Brady of Tiffin, OH,  Anne (Dale) Schoonmaker of Toledo, OH, Pat Brady of Tiffin, OH, and Peg (Rick) Baird of Marion, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Leota Brady, and brother-in-law, Al Kern. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home, with Pastor Dwayne Brewer officiating. Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross.
