Roanna M Sampsel, 86, of Defiance, passed away on  Monday, April 15, 2013 at Twin Rivers Care & Rehabilitation Center, Defiance.

She was born on August 27, 1926 to Frank and Ora May (Smith) Rozzel  in Kansas City, MO.  In 1970  she married Carl  Sampsel and he passed away in 2007.

Roanna was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Karl "Sonny" (Helen) Watkins of Indianapolis, IN,  Charles (Carolyn) Watkins of Indianapolis, IN, daughters, Sharon (Ray) Cooper of Defiance, Carolyn (Edward) Vittorio of Defiance, stepson, Paul Sampsel of Indianapolis, IN, stepdaughter, Patricia Gibson of Hollywood, FL, 22 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 18 step great grandchildren, 3 step great great grandchildren, brother, Bob Rozzel of Indianapolis, IN, sisters, Jeannie Naomi (James) Phinney of ElDorado Springs, MO and Marjorie Easter of Scottsdale, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents,1st husband, Charles Elmer Watkins, 1943-1959, 2nd husband, Carl Sampsel, son, Roy Watkins, daughter, Dolores Pilon, brothers, Hugh, Harold and  Francie Rozzel, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance with a graveside service following at Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Don Leonard officiating..

Memorials are suggested to Twin Rivers Care and Rehabilitation Center.
