Rita Ann Relue, 66, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Mercy Defiance Hospital.

She was born on August 28, 1950 to Robert and Ruth  (Reichert) Relue in Defiance, Ohio. She graduated from Defiance High School in 1968, and she received her Bachelor's Degree from Defiance College in 1972. Rita was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She worked as a librarian at the Defiance Public Library for 22 years, retiring in October, 2015.

Rita  is survived by her brothers, Ronald Relue of Defiance, and Richard (Laura) Relue of Lakewood, Colorado, niece, Dana Relue and nephew, Dylan Relue, both of Lakewood, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Robert Relue.

Visitation will be held  from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, Ohio, with a Vigil Service at 5:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 14, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance, with Fr. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
