Rita Mae Keeterle Brittig, 84, of Oakwood passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 in the CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born August 14, 1928 in Defiance and was the daughter of Vernon and Gladys (Bohn) Keeterle.

On October 23, 1946 she married Bernard P Brittig and he preceded her in death on September 14, 1985.

Rita is survived by three children; daughter Rosemary (Bob) Davis of Defiance, daughter Maryan Eitniear of Defiance and fiancée Tom Matney of Toledo, son John (Barbara) Brittig of Oakwood, 9 Grandchildren; Patty (Jeff) Ehlinger, Michael (Cathy) Davis, Shelly (Ed) Perrott, Jennifer (Kerry) Ordway, Scott Eitniear, Vincent Eitniear, Ryan (Symantha) Eitniear, Robert "Bob" (Misty) Brittig, Bradley (Dave Orsino) Brittig, 17 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bernard, two brothers Bob and Jim Keeterle, twin sisters and brothers-in-law; Kathleen "Katie" (Bill) Bauman, Elizabeth "Betty" (Bill) Ankney and a grandson Brian Brittig.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 3 to 8pm at the Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance and one hour prior to the funeral mass at the funeral home on Wednesday starting at 10:30am. Vigil service at 7:30pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 11:30am in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Randy Giesige as celebrant.

Burial will follow in Junction Cemetery.
