Gremling, Rita Frances, Born June 16, 1919 in Delphos, Ohio, Rita was called to her Lord on July 20, 2011. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at Joanne's House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Florida. Rita graduated from St. John's Catholic High School in Delphos. She was married 63 years to her high school sweetheart, Gene Gremling, who went with our Lord on July 25, 2002. Rita lived in Ayersville, Ohio for 54 years before moving to Fort Myers, Florida in 2002. She was active in various social organizations within Calusa Harbour Senior Living Center in Fort Myers. Rita was an unofficial greeter who welcomed and made the new residents feel at home. Rita's motto was "Never Too Old for Something New". She was a past member of the Red Hat Society and a member of the Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Fort Myers. Rita is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Virginia) Leininger of Placentia, California and Carolyn Feeney of Florida; her two sons, Roger Gremling of Noblesville, Indiana and James Gremling of Continental, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Susan Chiappini, Bob Leininger and Tom Leininger in California, John Roger Gremling and Lisa Gremling in Indiana, Josh Feeney in Illinois, Kurt Gremling and Kathy Taylor in Ohio; eight-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, July 25, 2011 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 715 Jefferson Avenue in Defiance. Rita's final resting place will be next to her husband, Gene at Riverview Memory Gardens. Reception will follow at the church hall.
