Ricky Allen Roddy, age 60 of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at The Laurels of Defiance.

He was born in Defiance, Ohio on July 25, 1965 to the late Robert and Donna (Elliott) Roddy. Ricky was a 1984 graduate of Paulding High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1986 to 1989.

Ricky was a member of Defiance Eagles #372 and AmVets #1991. He loved cooking was a talented chef. He worked at various restaurants in the Akron and Cleveland areas for many years. Ricky was an avid animal lover and also enjoyed orchestra music. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Ricky is survived by his brother, Robert E. Roddy Jr. of Defiance, his niece and nephews, Michael (Melissa) McKenzie of Stryker, Amanda Roddy of Defiance, Jeff McKenzie of Beaver, Ohio, and Joe McKenzie of Defiance, and his great-niece, Allie Roddy of Paulding.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Patricia Ann McKenzie.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Ricky will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Riverview Memory Gardens.
