Rick Porter Rickey G. Porter, 63, of Defiance, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 in his home. He was born in Defiance, Ohio on March 16, 1953, he was the son of the late Eugene Porter and Opal (Williams) Porter Greiner. He was the husband of Cynthia (Joy) Porter whom he married July 9, 2005. Rick was a lifelong resident of Defiance and graduate of Defiance High School. He had worked as a journeyman at Johns Manville for 44 years, retiring in 2015. He was a member of the Eagles and the VFW. Rick loved riding his motorcycles and his German Shepherds. Rick will be greatly missed by his wife Cynthia, stepmother Nancy Porter of Ayersville, step daughters: Lisa (Bob) McBroom of Seattle, WA, Shelly (Chris) Franz of Napoleon, Melody (Brad) Kosnik of Napoleon, step son: Henry Marksch IV of Defiance, sister: Brenda Porter Clady of Ayersville brother: Tom (Greta) Porter of Defiance He was preceded in death by his parents and step son Dustin Marksch. Services will be at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10th, with Pastor Rick Trumbo officiating. Visitation is Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and Friday 10 - 11 a.m. prior to services at Lawson-Roessner. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Suggested memorials are to the Defiance Humane Society P.O.
