Richard Arthur Roddy II, 48, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away on June 14, 2026.
Born on October 22, 1977, Richard was the beloved son of Linda Roddy and the late Richard Roddy Sr. Richard was a devoted father, son, brother, nephew, partner, and friend whose kindness, work ethic, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He attended Defiance High School and later earned his GED. Richard was known as a hardworking and dependable man—the person others could always count on. He was employed at DMP in Defiance until a tow motor accident left him disabled.
Richard’s greatest joy in life was his family, especially his children. He welcomed his daughter, Rhianna, in 2003; his son, Reece, in 2006; and his youngest daughter, Raelynn, in 2021.
He cherished every opportunity to spend time with them and create lasting memories. When he wasn’t with family, Richard enjoyed being outdoors, mowing the lawn, working on cars, fixing just about anything that needed repair, and spending time with friends. His generous spirit, strong work ethic, and caring heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Richard is survived by his loving partner, Amanda Faehr; his children, Rhianna Roddy, Reece Roddy, and Raelynn Roddy, all of Defiance; his mother, Linda Roddy(Mays); his siblings, Jennifer Davis (Whatman), Ryan Roddy, Rick Whatman, and Patricia Mobley (Whatman); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Roddy Sr.
In accordance with Richard’s wishes, cremation will take place under the care of Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, Ohio.
Richard will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his love of family, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and the countless lives he touched throughout his life.
