Richard Galata, 68, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the  Regency Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio.

He was born on July 23, 1949 to Sophia (Ritz) and Frank Galata, Sr. in San Antonio, TX. On August 14, 1980 he married Ana M. Gonzales, who resides in Defiance. Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Richard is survived by his wife, Ana M. Galata of Defiance, daughter, Sandra Villarreal of  Defiance, sons, Joe Belmares of San Diego, CA, Giovannie Galata, Gioseppe Galata, and Ginonina Galata Moore, all of San Antiono, TX, 5 grandchildren, brothers, Jesse Dunn of San Antonio, TX, and  Antonioni Galata of Ft. Worth, TX, sisters, Gloria Galata of San Antiono, TX, and Sylvia Venagas of CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Frank Galata, Jr., sister, Patsy Pineda, and son-in-law, Frank Villarreal.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017,  from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Family Christian Center in  Defiance. A Memorial Services will  follow at 11:00 am at The Family Christian Center on Thursday, with Rev. Tim Tracy officiating.
