Richard Daniel Hurlbert, age 67 of Defiance, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 in his home, with his family by his side. Rick was born on Aug. 14, 1953 to Roland and Colleen (Machlan) Hurlbert in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He attended North Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana and was a lifelong radiator mechanic at Glaser Diesel Service in Bryan, Ohio.

Over the years Rick enjoyed fishing, coaching soccer, reading, and was his children's biggest fan.

On Aug.19, 2019 Rick married Tina Moore and she survives. Rick is also survived by a daughter, Colleen Wright of Ney, Ohio, and  sons Daniel Hurlbert of Merry Lake, Michigan, and Timothy Hurlbert of Dickinson, North Dakota,  4 step-children, 10 grandchildren; Madison, Grace, Cooper, and Macy Wright, Lane Hurlbert, Maxwell, Levi, and Brynn Hurlbert, and  Zakary and Zoe Russell, 4 step-grandchildren, a sister Deb (Marion) Carpenter, step-brother Frank Deveau, and many special cousins. Rick was preceded in death by his parents.
