Ricardo F. Villarreal, 69, of Fayette, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at CH Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio.
Ricardo was born on January 3, 1946 to Rumaldo and Maria (Fonseca) Villarreal in San Juan, Texas. In 1963 he married Dominga (Aguirre) Villarreal, who proceeded him in death in 1996. Ricardo worked at ITT Higbea in Archbold for 40 years. He enjoyed playing the accordion, gardening, fishing and hunting. Ricardo came from Texas to better his life and the lives of his family, and stayed here for the rest of his life.
Ricardo is survived by his sons, Noe (Josie) Villarreal of Wauseon, Adam Villarreal of Defiance, and John Anthony (Elizabeth) Villarreal of Defiance, daughters, Maggie (Rufino) Oregon of Archbold, and Sandra (Felix) Ramirez of Fayette, 12 Grandchildren, 19 Great-grandchildren, and 5 Sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rumaldo and Maria Villarreal, wife, Dominga Villarreal, son, Rick Jr., brother Juan A. Villarreal, sisters, Maria Castillo and Ninfa Rodriguez, and a great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Grace.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with a vigil service at 2:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Defiance, with Fr. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be directed to CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
