Rex W. Zipfel, 69, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at The Toledo Hospital. He was born on November 7, 1949 to the late Roger and Bertha (Hahn) Zipfel in Defiance. Rex worked at S & K Handtool as a machinist for over 45 years until his retirement. He was a member of the union, and at Defiance Eagles #372. Rex enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing go karts. He loved spending time with his family. Rex will be sadly missed by his children; Brian (Diana) Zipfel, Ryan Zipfel, and Taylor Zipfel, all of Defiance, grandchildren; Amanda Egly, Eddie Groce, and Hannah Zipfel, sisters, Roxanne (Junior) Brown of Defiance, Susan (Keith) Hall of Delphos, and Cheryl (Paul) Wischmeyer of Defiance. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance.
