Rex Hall, 78, of Ayersville, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born July 3, 1935 in Tiffin Twp, the son of Barton and Doris (Schultz) Hall. On August 24, 1957 he married Faye Wiseman, who survives.
Rex attended a one room school through the eighth grade, and graduated from Defiance High School in 1953. He worked at Johns-Manville for 37 years. Rex served eight years in the Ohio National Guard at the Paulding and Defiance Armory.
He was a member of the Maumee Valley Car Club, Johns-Manville Retiree Club and Quarter Century Club. Rex enjoyed the outdoors, watching all kinds of sports, Sam Hornish Racing, working on his classic car, and attending and participating in car shows.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Faye, a daughter Connie (Jim) French, sons, Douglas and Thomas Hall, all of Ayersville, two grandsons, Nathan (Angela) French and Mathew French, a great grandson, Keagan French, and one sister, Judy (Jerry) Lenhart, of Ayersville.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and a sister, Shirley Mansfield.
Calling hours will be at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm. Due to his request, a private graveside service will be held in Ayersville Cemetery, with Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating.
Memorials are requested to be made in his memory to Hospice Visiting Nurses of Defiance, or to the Ayersville United Methodist Church.
