Rev. Juan R. Perez, 79, a former Frankfort resident, passed away April 19, 2026 at his home in Indianapolis. He was born June 23, 1946 in Puerto Rico to Higinio Perez & Dolores (Reyes) Perez. He married Elizabeth Rangel on May 27, 1967 in Ohio and she survives.

Juan went to School in Puerto Rico. He was The Pastor at Jubilee Worship Center for 22 years. He worked for 30 years at General Motors in Defiance, OH, while he was The Pastor at Bethel Worship Center in Defiance for 25 years, All the while serving as The President of The Spanish American Counsel of Churches, Inc. for states of IN, OH, TX, MI, WA, and throughout the Country Mexico for over 47 years.

Juan is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, children, Leanette (Martin) Lopez, John Lee (Jennifer) Perez both of South Carolina, Arthur J. (Cynthia) Perez of Indianapolis, siblings, Lidia Rodriquez, all of Puerto Rico, Olga Rodriquez of Defiance, Inez (Angel) Rios of Michigan, Rosin Rangel of Texas, Edna (Bill) Pagan of Defiance, Tony Perez of Ohio, Sam Perez of Fort Wayne, and 3 grandchild, Kristen Judd of Kentucky, Christian Isaiah Perez of South Carolina and Malia Noell Perez of Indianapolis.

Juan was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Ismael Perez, Virgilio Perez, Roberto Perez, Eva & Tito Carrasquillo, Laura Gonzales, Aida Rodriquez, Jose Perez, and Maria Virginia Arce, brothers-in-law, Aurelio Rodriquez, Arturo Rodriquez, Ismael Rodriquez, Romulo Rangel, and Pedro Juan Arce.

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at Schaffer Funeral Home, 529 Jefferson Ave., Defiance, OH. Funeral services will begin at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25th in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance, OH.
