Reetha Sheryl DeLong Barton, 71, of Defiance, passed away on  Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Regency Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.

She was born on December 20, 1943 to William and Effie (Dixon) Hemphill in Lima, Ohio. Reetha enjoyed traveling and going to the casino. She loved fishing, camping, bowling and baking.

Reetha  is survived by her daughter, Christine (Daniel) Mesker of Defiance, sons, Daniel (Amanda) Barton, and Russell Barton, both of Defiance,  2 grandchildren, 7 step great-grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, sisters, Noma (Tom) Fidago of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Nellie Kennedy of Lima, brothers, Raymond (Carole) Kennedy of Omaha, Nebraska,  Reagan Kennedy of Bellefontaine, and Truman (Becky) Kennedy of Fresno, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Effie Hemphill, sons, Randall Barton, and Bruce Barton, and her significant other, Herbert Rutter.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at the Bethany Cemetery, Hocking County.
