Rebecca Christiana Garza Rebecca Christiana Garza, age 15, of Defiance, passed away Thursday, February 6th, 2014 at her home. She was born in Bryan, Ohio on November 2, 1998, she was the daughter of the late Zoila Danielle Garza. Rebecca was a sophomore at Ayersville High School but attended at Defiance High School's multiple disabilities unit that teaches students independent living skills. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church. She was the family's "ladybug." Surviving are her Aunt Angelique Vela, Aunt Calista Garza, Uncle Robert (Cynthia) Garza Jr., Uncle Valentino Garza, Uncle Alejandro (Mollie) Garza Uncle Nicholas Garza, all of Defiance. Her great grandfather Benjamin Gonzalez of Toledo and great grandmother Consuelo Garza. Many other family members. She was preceded in death by her mother Zoila and grandparents Robert and Christiana Garza. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13th, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Friends are invited to call Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Wednesday 2 - 8 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Entombment will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers and gifts please give donations to the family to help pay for funeral expenses.
