Raymond E. Nagel Sr. Raymond E. Nagel Sr., age 74, of Defiance, passed away Sunday, February 15th, 2009 at Mount Vista Medical Center, Mesa, Arizona. He was born in Defiance County on May 11, 1934, he was the son of the late Edward and Mae (Rowe) Nagel He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Ray served in the U.S. Army. He retired from G.M. Central Foundry and was also a farmer. He was a member of the K of C, UAW # 211 retirees, Eagles, and the VFW. He graduated from Jewell High School in 1953. . Surviving are a Daughter: Angela Nagel of Cleveland. Two Sons: Bradley Nagel of Defiance and Raymond E. Nagel Jr, of Jacksonville, Fl. Sisters: Jean Zimmerman and Janice (Theodore) Brown, and a Brother: John Robert (Lois) Nagel all of Defiance. Special friend: Evelyn Carlile of Napoleon. Preceded in death by a brother Paul Nagel and his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A:M Saturday, Feb. 21, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, with Father Dave Tscherne officiating. Military graveside rites will be by VFW Post # 3360. Visitation will be from 2-8 on Friday at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
