Raymond "Ray" L. Bott, 81, of Defiance, passed away on August 7, 2013 at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Defiance, OH.
He was born on January 2, 1932 to Isadore and Helen V. (Walters) Bott in Wyandotte, MI. Ray graduated from Oakwood High School in 1952. He married Mary Faeth and they had two children. Mary passed away in 1990. Ray and Berta L. (Smith) Morris, married on August 2nd, 1991, in Defiance, Ohio.
Ray was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Junction, and later, St. John Catholic Church, a Life member of Eagles and the VFW, and served in the Korean War. Ray retired from Johns Manville in 1992 after 20+ years of employment. After retirement he moonlighted at Morris Heating and Air Conditioning.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Berta L. Bott, children; Rita (Ken) Dusenberg, Dennis (Lindy) Bott, George (Tonie) Morris, Connie (Thomas) Haver, R. Eugene (Julee) Morris, David (Bobi) Morris, Tina (Gary) Siler, Sarah (Mark) Wolfrum, Ellen (Bill) Kuckuck, Jenny (Tim) Greear, Janice (Mike) Wolfrum, Regina (Gannon) Bryant, All of Defiance, Ohio, 34 Grandchildren, 55 Great-grandchildren, & sister, Alice (Robert) Breidenbaugh of Hicksville, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st Wife, Mary (Faeth) Bott, brother, Clarence E. Bott, sister, Catherine Meyer, granddaughter, Mackenzie Morris, and grandson, Garrett Emahiser.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 11, 2013 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.
A Vigil Service will take place at 2:15 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013, at 11:00 am at the St. John Catholic Church, with Father Todd Dominique, officiating.
Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
