Ray Allen Sebring, age 67 of Indianapolis, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born on October 11, 1956 to the late Marvin and Patricia (Colegrove) Sebring in Wauseon, Ohio. Ray was a 1974 graduate of Fayette High School. On July 16, 1988 he married Tammy Armstrong, who preceded him in death on September 15, 2017. Ray worked at Rexnord in Indianapolis until the plant closed in 2017. Ray is survived by his son, Jacob Shafer and siblings, Dale (Sherry) Sebring, Christine (Brian) Core, Richard (Laura) Sebring, Steven Sebring, Michael (Kerry) Sebring, and eight nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, Ray was also preceded in death by his sister, Melinda Sebring. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to CHP Defiance Area Hospice Center.
