Randall Lee Schappert, 59, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at his home in Defiance.

He was born on January 18, 1958 to Roland and Glenda (Fair) Schappert in Coldwater, Michigan. Randall was a 1975 graduate of Stryker High School. He worked at General Motors in Defiance as a millwright from December, 1983, to his retirement in 1992.  Randall enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on cars.

Randall will be greatly missed by his daughters, Cari Schappert and Margaret Schappert, son Corey (Christene) Schappert, ex-wife Debra Schappert, eight grandchildren, sister Diane Haynes, brothers Lonnie Schappert and Martin Schappert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenda and Roland Schappert, and brother, Mike Schappert.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am at  Schaffer Funeral Home on Thursday, May 25, 2017, with Rev. Perry Porter officiating. Burial will follow the services at Evansport Cemetery.
