Phyllis J. Crampton Phyllis J. Crampton, 89, of Defiance, passed away Sunday, December 30th, 2018 at the Laurels of Defiance. She was born on July 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Red and Vera (Wickerham) Bennett. Phyllis was the widow of Dale Crampton. She had lived many years in New Mexico until moving back to Defiance last year. She had previously worked at Dinner Bell in Defiance. Phyllis had four step children: Richard Crampton, Bob Crampton J.R. Crampton and Beatrice Crampton. She is survived by a sister Wanda Richards of Sylvania, OH brothers: Larry Shirk of Athens, TN, Jerry Shirk of Washington state and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, a brother Dick Shirk and a sister Lois Klein. Services will be at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 4th, with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating.
