Phillip E. Brown Phillip E. Brown, 67, of Ney, died Tuesday, August 11th, 2009 at CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center. He was born in Defiance, on January 2, 1942, he was the son of the late John C. and Constance (Sproul) Brown. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. He graduated from Oakwood High School in 1960. On Aug 22, 1964 he married Karen (Weidenhamer) Brown and she survives. He retired as an electrician at Central Foundry in 2000. He was a member of the Sherwood VFW Post 5665, Defiance AmVets Post #1991, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 372, Ney Jaycees, Ney American Legion Post #680 and past member of the Ney -Washington Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. Besides his wife surviving are Daughters: Beth (David) Kroa of Fleetwood, Pa., Brenda (Lee) Schlosser of Paulding, Barbara (John) Marlin of Ney. Sons: James (Kelly) Brown of Defiance, Jay (Jennifer) Brown of Defiance, Jerry (Rhonda) Brown of Liberty Center. Children by choice: Dan (Jennifer) Volz of Ney. Brothers: Fred (Helen) Brown of Defiance and David (Deb) Brown of Oakwood. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Marysdale, at 11:00 A:M on Friday, August 14th, with Father Robert Kill officiating. Friends are invited to call Thursday 2-9 and Friday 9-10:15 at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. Interment at Ney Cemetery where the Sherwood VFW will conduct honorary military graveside rites.
