Philip A. Johnston, age 68 of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at his home in Defiance, Ohio. He was born on June 4, 1954 to the late Hilton "Doc" and Lucille (Gilgenbach) Johnston in Defiance. Phil worked for over 30 years at Metal Management until his retirement. He was a life member of the NRA. Phil will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Phil is survived by his brothers, Gregory Johnston of Ottawa, Ohio, and Timothy (Louise) Johnston of Miller City, Ohio, his sister, Nancy Bennett of Elmore, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Barbara Johnston and Virginia Okuley. A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
