Pedro Bruno Maldonado Jr., age 73 of Defiance, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital. He was born in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico on February 26, 1952 to the late Pedro Bruno Sr. and Bienvenida Maldonado. Pedro worked for 25 years at General Motors until his retirement. While living in Hondo, Texas he was Pastor of his church. He loved to travel and hang out with his family and friends. Pedro enjoyed eating and vegetable gardening. Pedro is survived by his loving children, Isaac Bruno of Defiance, Elizabeth (Valentin) Sabino of New Bavaria, OH, Marisol (Jerome) Lindsay of Pensacola, FL, and Jasmine Perez of Defiance. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Neida Ruth Cora,  Edwin (Lillian) Bruno, Josue (Elizabeth) Bruno, Abner (Gloria) Bruno, Hector (Alicia) Bruno and Noel Bruno. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Rivera, and brothers Danny and Ruben Torrez. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 4-8 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, August 25th at the funeral home, with Adalberto Vega officiating. Pedro will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
