Paula A. "Paulina" Martinez, 84, of Defiance, passed away on  May 6, 2016 at the CHP Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Center, Defiance, OH.

She was born on May 6, 1932 to Blas and Altagracia (Ceja) Anguiano at Ameca, Mexico.  On June 5, 1954 she married Ruben Martinez Sr..

She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, and enjoyed sewing, Bingo, and casinos..

Paula is survived by her loving husband, Ruben Martinez of Defiance, OH, 6 daughters, Eloisa (Tim) Barbero, Marisela Martinez, Enriqueta (Lupe) Acevedo, Sylvia (Joe) Velasquez, Clara (Larry) Gomez, Alicia (Jerry) Elrod, 5 sons, Ruben  (Becky) Martinez, Jr., Francisco (Elda) Martinez, Joaquin (Deb) Martinez, Carlos (Monica) Martinez, Jorge (Stacy) Martinez, 29 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, and a sister, Herminia Ramos.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 Brothers, 1 Sister.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 8, 2016, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016, 11:00 am at the St John's Catholic Church, Defiance, Ohio, with Fr Eric Mueller, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Parkinsons Department at Univ. of Toledo Medical Center or the hospice inpatient center..
