Paul F. Wagner
Paul F. Wagner, 94, of Defiance, passed away Sunday, June 26th, 2011 shortly after 4 a.m. at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center surrounded by loving family.
He was born in St. Michael's Ridge, Oh on August 28, 1916, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Willitzer) Wagner.
Paul married Vivian (Barnett) Wagner in 1952 and she survives.
He was a lifetime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church where he was actively involved, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Holy Name Society, VFW, Jewell American Legion, American Red Cross instructor, first president of Catholic Charities in Defiance, participated in jail ministry at CCNO and member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus where he held many offices.
Paul had been employed in production inventory control and as catalog manager at Arnold Haviland Co. for over 30 years.

Sisters: Valeria (James) Barber of Ayersville, Grace Cape of Edgerton, Marcella (Gerald) Froelich of Ayersville, Martha (Charles) Konecny of Bowling Green, Mary Gillen of Montpelier, Oh.
Brothers: John (Alice) Wagner of Adrian, Mich., James (Joan) Wagner of Defiance
He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Mary (McCann)(Alan) Barnes, Columbus, Steve (Dee) McCann, Washington, Kelly (McCann)(Shawn) Zimmer, Cleveland, Matthew (Ashley) McCann of Wadsworth,OH, Arica Donze, Columbus, Adrienne Donze, Ft. Wayne, IN, Zachary (Lindsey) Wagner of Waterville.OH, Emily, Sydney Wagner,Grand Rapids, OH and 3 great grandchildren. Stone and Cash McCann, Wadsworth, OH, Vivian McCann, Washington.
Preceded in death by a daughter-in law: Alice Wagner, a grandson: Blake Wagner, brothers: Justin, Raymond, Walter, Carl, Bernard. sisters: Rosemary Eisel, Irene Baker, and Joanne Keil.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Michael's Catholic Church, rural Defiance at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29th, with Father Dave Tscherne officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery where VFW Post # 3360 and the Jewell American Legion will conduct honorary military rites.
Friends are invited to call Tuesday 2-8p.m. at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, Defiance and Wednesday 10-11a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church. The 4th Degree Knights of Columbus will stand honor guard from 6-8p.m. Tuesday with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m.
