Paul E. Vogelsong Paul E. Vogelsong, 92, of Defiance, passed away Monday morning, April 15th, 2019 at Mercy Hospital of Defiance. He was born in Defiance County on March 21, 1927, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Nettie (Donley) Vogelsong. Paul was the husband of Wanda Jean (Sobieck) Vogelsong. They were married May 19, 1945. He had worked at Challenge Cooke in Bryan and retired in 1992. He was also a former custodian at St. John Catholic Church. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Auglaize Village and the coin club. He was also a stamp collector and enjoyed traveling. He was a great husband and father. Paul will be greatly missed by his wife of 73 years, Jean, daughters: Carol Hillyer of Defiance, Shirley (Kim) McKeen of Defiance, Barbara (Phil) Fitzenrider of Defiance, Susan (Dan) Long of Rotonda West. Florida, son: Douglas Vogelsong of Hicksville. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Wayne Vogelsong, Roger Vogelsong, sisters: Doris Antoine, Donna Keys and 2 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church, 510 Jackson Ave. Defiance, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17th, with Father Eric Mueller officiating. Visitation is Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance and Wednesday 10-11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church. A Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lawson-Roessner. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
