Paul J Stuckey Sr., 80, of Paulding, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Gardens of Paulding. He was born on September 5, 1933 in Defiance to the late Henry N. & Cathrine (Routh) Stuckey. On September 4, 1982 he married Viola (Monhollen) Stuckey who preceded him in death on August 5, 2009.
Paul was a US Army veteran of 20 years having received various medals. He served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam, Germany, and Panama. After returning home from service he worked for Braun Ambulance Manufacturing in Oakwood; then 9 1/2 years at Slatter Steel in Fort Wayne, IN. Paul was a life-time member of VFW Post 3360, member of the Moose #2094 and the Defiance Eagles..
Paul is survived by his son, Paul (Vivian) Stuckey Jr. of Homestead, FL, and brother, Martin (Annie) Stuckey of Kerrville,TX and 2 grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Viola, brothers, John, Richard, Leonard, Edward, Robert and Walter Stuckey and a sister, Theresia (Lowell) Kennedy.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the funeral home with Father John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in Bowholtz Cemetery, Paulding County, OH where military honors will be accorded by VFW Post 3360, Defiance.
The family suggest memorials be made to the Autism Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
