Paul C. Schmidt, age 70, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at his home in Defiance, Ohio. He was born on February 13, 1953 to Maurice Schmidt and Mary Eileen (Schroeder) Schmidt in Lima, Ohio. Paul worked for several years as a truck driver for Bryan Truck Line and advanced to dispatch.  He was a life long musician and was an avid guitar player, playing in several area bands. He enjoyed woodworking, and he treasured his time spent with his family. Paul was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Paul is survived by his daughters, Hayley Schmidt and Rebekah (Charles) Dell, all of Bryan, OH, and Amber (Steven) Yeager of Defiance, eight grandchildren, and his siblings, Tony (Nancy) Schmidt, Sue Zanetti, Cindy (Allan) Altaffer, Rick (Deb) Schmidt, Mary Lynn Damian, Larry (Nancy) Schmidt, Doug (Henrietta) Schmidt and Dan (Julie) Norberg, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Kellyn Norberg and Darryl Schmidt. A Celebration of Life service for  Paul will be held at a later date.
