Patrick W. McCann Patrick W. McCann, 88, of Defiance, died Thursday, May 7th, 2015 suddenly in his home. He was born in Defiance, Ohio on February 13, 1927, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Katherine (Breckler) McCann. On October 7, 1950 he was united in marriage to Chressence (Nolan) McCann who died in 1991. Patrick was a very active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Defiance. He was a 1944 graduate of Jewell High School, a Navy veteran of World War Two and a farmer. He worked at Jacob's Meats and Dinner Bell. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Fish and Game Club, and was on the board of the Jewell Grain Company. He is survived by four children, Kathleen (Rex) Eutsler of Defiance, Lawrence (Loraine) McCann, Cindy McCann and James (Carol) McCann all of Defiance two sisters: Wilma Wortkoetter, Lucille (Richard) Myers both of Bryan a brother: Richard McCann of Defiance. 16 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Chressence, a son Patrick J. McCann and sister Helene Clemens, brother in law Richard Wortkoetter and sister in law Marilyn McCann. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12th, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Visitation will be Monday 2-8 p.m. at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery at the Ridge.
