Patrick  M. Kennedy, 70, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Promedica Defiance Regional Hospital, Defiance, OH. He was born on February 2, 1949 to Marion "Mike" and Elizabeth  (Sprankle) Kennedy in Chicago, IL. Patrick retired from GM in 1995 after 25 years of service, and was a member of UAW Local 211 Retirees.  In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, playing church league softball, coaching for Defiance Baseball Association Boy's League, and especially cherished time spent with his family. Patrick  is survived by his 3 sons, Michael (Kathy) Kennedy of Ney, OH, Samuel Kennedy of Defiance, OH, and Benjamin (Erika) Kennedy of Canoga Park, CA, grandchildren, Tegan, Kaden, Brodie, and Elsa Kennedy, a brother, Marty (Deb) Kennedy of Continental, OH,  3 sisters, Sheree (Kevin) Mast of Defiance, OH,  Karollen (Robert) Engle of Temperance, MI, and Tina (Roger "Butch") Barker of Defiance, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019, from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio, with a memorial service immediately following at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Lonnie Musgrave officiating. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
